The A-side, Ha Ha Said the Clown, was horrible, it just wasn’t funny. Those kinds of songs were more or less dead and buried as soon as they were recorded: you couldn’t really do anything with them apart from be embarrassed.

A 1967 Yardbirds single produced by Mickie Most at De Lane Lea, released on Epic in the US. The A-side was a cover of a Manfred Mann hit that JP felt was ill-suited to the band. The B-side Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor was more in the Yardbirds tradition and featured JP using the violin bow technique.
